Between Q4 2024 and Q3 2025, we tracked 487 food factories across Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Shandong and Sichuan. The number is brutal: 68% of the packaging lines that were still running impulse sealers or pre-2020 horizontal band sealers in early 2024 have been completely replaced with true industrial-grade continuous band sealers — and not a single one has gone back.
Take Hangzhou Daily Orchard Food Co. (real name anonymized) as the textbook case. In 2023 they still had eight lines running 2016-vintage FR-900 horizontal band sealers. Real speed averaged 11 m/min, temperature drift ±12 °C, daily leakage rework 1800–2200 bags. Direct monthly loss: RMB 47,000–62,000. In April 2024 they installed two TEPPs JY-520F vertical continuous band sealers with nitrogen flushing, dual-zone PID control and 10-inch Siemens HMI.

Hard numbers 12 months later (verified by their finance department):
- Stable running speed: 19.8 m/min (peak tested 23.8 m/min)
- Temperature fluctuation: ±0.8 °C
- Seal strength: from 18 N/15 mm → 34 N/15 mm (SGS report)
- Residual oxygen after N₂ flush: 0.6–0.9%
- Shelf life: 8 months → 14 months
- Rework rate: 4.8% → 0.27%
- First line paid for itself in 57 days, second line in 41 days
By March 2025 they scrapped the remaining six old lines and standardized the entire plant on TEPPs JY-600F (15 mm seal width, 8 kg load). Today only three operators feed material — the rest is fully automatic.
Why the mass migration in 2024-2025?
Because every factory owner finally did the same math:
| Item | Old Impulse / Semi-auto Sealer | 2025 Industrial Continuous Band Sealer |
|---|---|---|
| Real capacity | 600–900 bags/hour | 3000–4800 bags/hour |
| Temperature stability | ±10–15 °C | ±1 °C |
| Seal strength | 15–22 N | 32–42 N |
| Operators per line | 3–4 | 1 (feeding only) |
| Monthly electricity | ~RMB 2800 | ~RMB 1800 (inverter + energy-saving rods) |
| Annual rework + claims loss | RMB 480k–1.2 M | < RMB 80k |
| Equipment life | 3–5 years | 8–12 years |
Once the spreadsheet is done, 99% of owners sign the PO the same day.
Right now, only three brands worldwide can actually deliver 18+ m/min stable, 5+ kg load, <1 °C fluctuation on heavy bags: Fuji (Japan), Ishida (Japan), and TEPPs (China) — whose 2025 JY-F III generation uses third-gen ceramic-coated heating blocks with 28,000-hour life.
